represented between drill holes 05-01-0007 and OS-01-0006 in the Moffat ores. This
fault trends north-northwest across Section 25. Data indicating the extent and throw
of this fault have not been collected.
Cross Section D-0'
Cross section D-D' is shown in Exhibit 2.2-4. It is the southernmost of two east-
west trending cross sections that transect the Moffat area. This cross section
incorporates data from four drill holes (05-03-0004, 05-03-0005, 05-01-0009, 05-01-
0010). These cross sections show the lower coal-bearing member of the Williams
Fork Formation from below the Wadge coal to above the Lennox coal. As with the
cross sections described above, this section is comprised of interbedded sandstones
and shales thought to have been deposited near sea level and containing the Wadge
coal (which averages approximately 7 feet thickness), Wadge Rider coal, and Lennox
coal (3 feet thick where present). Cross section D-D' shows a portion of the eastern
limb of the Twentymile Pork Syncline. Dips are to the west and decrease in that
direction.
•
Cross Section E-E'
Cross section E-E' (Exhibit 2.2-5) is located on the West Ridge, down strike from
the Moffat ores. It incorporates dots from drill holes 05-01-0012 and 05-01-0013 as
well as from surface outcrops and shows an interval of the Williams Fork Formation
extending from below the Wadge coal to slightly above the Lennox coal. The
stratigraphic interval shown is similar to The same interval shown in cross sections
in the Moffat area to the north owing to the general homogeneity of the strata along
strike. The section consists of a sequence of interbedded sandstones and shales
containing the Wadge, Wadge Rider, and Lennox cools. The Wadge is approximately
II feet thick, but contains Ito 2 feet of shaly interburden not shown on the cross
section. The Wadge Rider coal is about 2 feet thick.
The structure shown on cross section E-E' is strongly influenced by the
orientation (Exibit 2.1-I) which is nearly parallel to the fold axis of The Twentymile
. Park Syncline and, hence, strike of the bedding. Although located on The western
limb of the Twentymile Park Syncline, the structure shown on this cross section
2.2-4
