EXHIBIT "B" <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> (a) Description of the vegetation and soil characteristics. <br /> This pit area is a knoll north of Highway 10 on the Corsentino Ranch, owned by the City of <br /> Walsenburg. It is presently rangeland and will be reclaimed back to rangeland. <br /> Vegetation on the surrounding area is composed primarily of: <br /> blue grama <br /> sideoats grama <br /> indian ricegrass <br /> western wheatgrass <br /> needleandthread <br /> sand dropseed <br /> These are the soil types involved: <br /> Kim fine sand loam, 3 to 9 percent slopes <br /> Manzanola clay loam, 0 to 2 percent slopes <br /> Schamber-Midway complex, 3 to 25 percent slopes <br /> The Schamber-Midway complex is the main type for aggregates. <br /> (b) Permanent man-made structures within 200 feet of the affected land. <br /> There are no man-made structures on or within 200 feet of the affected land except for possibly <br /> barbed wire drift fences, which are the property of the owner. <br /> (c) Water resources in the area of operation. <br /> This will be a dry pit operation with no water requirements. It is a dry knoll in the eastern part of <br /> the ranch. The entire area is dry rangeland. <br /> (d) Wildlife Statement. <br /> No wildlife statement has been prepared, nor requested from the Division of Wildlife. However the <br /> applicant feels that this operation will have no adverse affect on wildlife of the area. <br />
