The letters
list several concerns as listed below:
- Operating times: They are beginning work as early as
5:30 a.m., disturbing residents while they sleep,
and working excessive hours.
- Noise pollution: Disturbing their sleep, and lack of
tranquility.
- Dust: It was mentioned they can't hang their clothes
out, and they must keep their windows closed.
- Moving of mailboxes: This was done without the
Post Master's permission.
As you read their letters, you can understand how the Colona
Pit's operation has infringed upon their lifestyles, causing
them great frustration. The Board of County Commissioners is
writing this letter not only as a follow-up to their letter,
but in response to the numerous calls we receive from others
relaying these same concerns.
