this is actually to be done as a measure to minimize
disturbance to the hydrologic balance, prevent offsite damage
etc.
EXHIBIT D-Reclamation Plan: Rule 6.3.4 of the Mineral Rules
states that the elements of this plan must be correlated with
the Exhibit E Map which has not entirely been done. A
listing of the elements of the reclamation plan that must be
indicated on the Exhibit E Map will be covered in a subsequent
discussion of that Exhibit.
The application does not contain a specific commitment as to
the gradient of reclaimed slopes. The reclamation plan
provided for the application is worded "should be sloped" and
!~'~•* the Division wants a "will be sloped" at a certain gradient.
` D(1h Please provide a commitment to slope the reclaimed surfaces at
~~('" a certain gradient and, if steeper than 3:1, provide
~\~ justification that supports these steeper slopes as acceptable
for the proposed post mining land use and demonstrates
compliance with the applicable performance standards of Rule
3.1.
' The application contains a commitment to fertilize "unless
a ~ field evidence or a laboratory soil analysis indicates
JJ~.,}F1p sufficent amounts of nitrogen and phosphorus...". Please
__.n13a ~~' provide a commitment to provide the Division such evidence or
~,P1111NN°°n~~ND analysis for Division approval prior to any decision by the
~,,a.~ operator not to fertilize as part of the revegetation effort.
~~ ~ ~ The application does not commit the operator to a particular
`~~' method of seeding. The wording in the reclamation plan is
~~G
'~ reclamation of the site?
~' EXHIBIT E-Mao: The application contains two maps as required
by Rule 6.3.5 but the maps do not contain all the required
information.
' "should be planted with a drill...". Please provide a
1r0 ~ commitment as to an application method for the seeding.
~,~.
The application indicates under the reclamation plan that a
U~ diversion may be needed. Is it intended that a diversion
U ditch be installed? If is is, will this remain after
vti ~ reclamation or is it intended to remove this as part of the
i__~ Neither map actually has the proposed permit boundaries
p U° labeled. Neither map indicates where the topsoil stockpiles
~QO will be located or any overburden stockpiles or any product
~r' stockpiles. Please provide maps that include this
~~ information, where applicable.
~ Exhibit E1, presumably the Mining Plan Map, does not indicate
the direction of the mining. Please indicate on the map the
direction that mineral extraction will proceed.
