Site SW-S2W-SG-17 (WSH171. The site exists on Hubberson Gulch at the Pond 017 site. It was first
sampled in August, 1997. Samples at this site display aCaMg-HCOaSOa type water with an average
TDS value of 701 mg/I (range 350-1200)
Site SW-S2W-SG16 (WSH161. This site existed at the Pond 016 site. It was situated on a tributary to
Hubberson Gulch (a.k.a., 016 Gulch) that enters Hubberson Gulch below the Pond 017 site. It was
first sampled in August, 1997. Samples at this site display a MgCa-SOa HC03 type water with an
average TDS valve of 843 mg/I (range 540-10801. Sampling at this site was discontinued after
September 2000 upon completion of Pond 016.
Spring 5-49 IWSPG49). This is a spring developed with a 4 inch PVC pipe that flows info a stock tank.
It was located immediately above the Pond 016 site and was first sampled in August, 1997. Samples
at this site display aCaMg-HCOa type water with an average TDS value of 664 mg/I (range 620-7101.
This spring was abandoned on August 1, 2001 prior to mining in this area.
Spring S-7 IWSPG71. This spring (a.k.a., the Joshua Springs) serves as the water supply for the
homestead located in Section 21 along Hubberson Gulch. Samples from this springs display a CaMg-
HCOa SOa type water with an average TDS value of 801 mg/I (range 704-8601.
SW-S2W-SG7 (WSH71. This site exists on Hubberson Gulch downstream of all of the previously
mentioned surface water sites, but upstream of the confluence of the Pond 006 discharges from the
central pit area. It was first sampled in April, 1987. In 1997, it displayed aCaMg-HCOs SOa type
water with an average TDS value of 690 mg/I (range 360-11301.
Summary of Same Day Hubberson Gulch Measurements. Table 7-49 displays TDS and flow values
measured on the same days on Hubberson Gulch. This table demonstrates that both TDS and flow
values increase as one proceeds downstream
SW-S2W-CG1 IWSSCII. This site existed about 1500 feet downstream of the Pond 015 site Ino road
existed during the baseline study all the way up to the proposed pond locationl. It is situated on a
tributary to Sage Creek (a.k.a., 015 Gulchl. This site was initially monitored from January, 1980 to
May, 1986. Monitoring was re-established in July, 1997. Samples at this site display a CaMg-
HCOaSOa type water with an average TDS value of 451 mg/I (range 230-6941. Sampling at this site
was discontinued after October 1998 upon completion of Pond 015.
Surface Water Quality Suitability. SCC has compiled lists of standards for irrigation and livestock.
These lists are composed mostly of CDPHE standards, although other agency standards been used if
they are more stringent or if the CDPHE has no standard for a particular parameter. See SCC's Yoast
Mine Permit Application, Tables 7-35 and 7-36, for a more detailed explanation of these standards.
153 Revised 01 /02
