Available <br />water capacity is low. Runoff is very slow, and the hazard of water <br />erosion is slight. <br />This unit is used for irrigated hay and pasture. <br />The Apmay soil is well suited to hay and pasture. It has few <br />limitations. The Nesda soil is moderately well suited to hay and <br />pasture. The main limitation is the low water holding capacity. <br />Fertilizer is needed to ensure optimum growth of grasses and legumes. <br />Crop residue left on or near the surface helps to conserve moisture, <br />maintain tilth, and control erosion. <br />• The permit and adjacent areas have been previously covered with coal as <br />a result of past, pre-Mt. Harris activities and also during the more <br />recent and current Mt. Harris activities.
