Dept. of Natural Resources
July 30, 1977
Re: Fedinec Pit, Moffat County
Fire No. 77-57
Dear Maggie:
Enclosed are copies of the "fugitive Dust Emissions Permit Applications"
for the Davidson Pit, Fedinec Pit, and portable crusher. As you know,
the other Quillen pits are "grandfathered" and do not require permits.
I have made a pit location map of the Fedinec Pit to scale on the Breeze
Mountain USGS Quad (2 copies enclosed).
As with the other Quillen pits, the proposed timetable of operation is
approximate and is a best estimate at this time based on future business
projections. Less than 70,000 tons per year of combined overburden and
mineral will be removed from the site.
Now to deal with the specific points of the Fedinec Pit raised in your
letter of June 17, 1977, I am supplying the following information:
1. The enclosed amended vicinity map defines the access road. This
will add approximately 1 Acre of affected land and makes the total
area of affected land 6 acres instead of 5.
2. The amended vicinity map should clear up the question of legal des-
cription and a locatable point. Exhibit M should be corrected to
read:"Should business conditions warrant, it is possible that in the
future extraction could be further expanded into lots 11 and 12 (not
4 and 5), Sec 14, Twp 6N, R 90W, 6th P.M." Lots 4 and3 wi113e mined
now, not 11 and 12.
GENERAL CONTRACTORS • ELECTRICAL CONTMCTOR9 • CRAIG BAND AND GRAVEL • OUTLERBUILOER
