• 6. Coal haulage traffic will be routed through the pit area using the establish pit ramps traveling in <br />a one-way directional flow pattern only. <br />7. In the event of a blast occurring within 1,500 feet of the highwall miner operation, the miner <br />will cease operation and back away from the highwall a minimum oT 50 feet. Upon completion <br />of the blast and the all-clear signal given, the highwall will be reexamined for any problems <br />caused by the blast, and commence highwall mining operations if highwall has been deemed <br />safe to proceed again. <br />8. The spacing between highwall miner entries are addressed in SCC's MSHA Ground Control <br />Plan. The pillar design is based on a safety factor of 1.5. <br />9. Should the active opening being mined intersect the previous opening, the highwall miner will <br />pull out immediately at that point, skip the next adjacent hole and then continue to highwall <br />mine again. <br />70. Highwall miner openings shall be blocked with spoil or other suitable material before they are <br />abandoned. The openings up to 300 feet from the current active opening will not be blocked <br />so visual inspections of their performance can be conducted lapproximately 15 openingsj. <br />• However, no highwall entrance will be left open more than 30 days. <br />5.2 PRODUCTION <br />SCC has estimated the following production and recovery for the highwall mining operation: <br />Year Tons <br />2005 887,000 <br />2006 960,000 <br />2007 980,000 <br />2008 252,000 <br />Total 3,079,000 <br />• <br />Donn <br />t v-a-~ <br />Revised 04/04 <br />
