Dept. 01 Natural Resources
EXHIBIT A - Legal Description
S 1/2 of NW 1/4 of SE 1/4 S 1/2 of SW 1/4 of SE 1/4, Section 30, R 67 W;
Ti~P 22 S
EXHIBIT B - Index Map
Index map is included on each of the attached maps.
EXHIBIT C - Pre-Mining and Mining Plan Maps
See attached maps.
EXHIBIT D
a & b
The initial operation to take place on any undisturbed area will be to remove
and stockpile any topsoil which may be present. Since there is little or no
topsoil present in the proposed mining area, the time required for this
operation or phase of mining is not expected to be more than a few hours.
This will be a major disturbance and will- b~\ne with a dozer.
The next phase will be the drilling, blasting and removal of overburden. The
time required for this will be 3 to k months". The larger rocks will be placed
on the bottom and the fines stockpiled for use in reclamation. This will be a
major disturbance and will involve the use of a vertical drill mounted on a
dozer, explosives, and a dozer to push the overburden off.
The third phase will be to mine the clay or stone. The plastic clay, if any
is present, will be pushed onto a pile with a dozer, then loaded onto a truck
for blending in a stockpile. The clay is (crush d and stared in bins until
hauled by truck to Pueblo. The flint will then be drilled and shot, loaded
by front end loader onto a truck and hauled to the crusher. Time required for
this operation will depend on consumption at the plant. Under normal operating
conditions, one area will provide sufficient clay for 2-5 months operation.
Processing of stone will be similar to the flint clay.
It must be noted that each area is different in amount of overburden, quality
and quantity of clay. No general rules can be applied to all areas regarding
time required to complete each phase. We will be working in 3 different areas
of the mine at any one time under normal operating conditions. Each area will
be approximately 50-60 feet by 200-300 feet. One area will be on the North
Face, one of the South Face and one on the East Face of the main pit.
See mining plan map for information pertaining to this section.
