The
croxn cover of ponderosa pine is approximately 15%. The
xoodland site index is 4h, which means a 100 year old tree can
be expected to be !~!~ feet high.
The understory consists of 5~ blue gran a, lOb June grass, 15%
sideoats grama, 1d,6 mountain mahogany, 10% gambel oak and 5~
rabbitbrush. Forage production is approximately 100 pounds per
acre per year. Half this amount should be left to maintain vigor
of the pl az~t. kpproximately 20 acres of land are needed to carry
one cox one month.
I hope this provides the information needed for your application
for mining permit from the Colorado Board of Reclamation.
Sin~y,
Ross L.
