Structures to be Protected - Diesel storage tank Coal Handling structures and convenors <br />Protective Measures - <br />Airblast - Delays and stemming <br />Vibration - Delays (R' _ (D/D.)2 = (6,500/6512 =10,000 Ibs ner 8 ms delay allowable <br />Flyrock - Delays, stemming, blasting in bottom of 10 ft excavation <br />Other - <br />Schedule -All hlasting will occur between sunrise and sunset unless a prepared blast is delayed due <br />to unavoidable hazardous conditions and cannot be further delayed without creating a potential <br />safety hazard that cannot be adequately mitigated. <br />Standard Signage and Blasting Signals - <br />Signs reading; "Warning! Explosives in Use" with information on marking of blast areas and <br />blasting signals will be placed at all entrances to the Mine Permit Area prior to any blasting <br />activity. <br />Signs reading; "Blasting Area -Keep Out" will be posted at all potential access points to the <br />blasting area. Access to blast area will be blocked by blast crew 5 minutes prior to blast. <br />Five minutes prior to the blast three (3) short blasts on a whistle or siren, audible up to one-half <br />mile away will be sounded. Two minutes prior to the blast two (2) short blasts on the whistle or <br />siren will be sounded. One minute prior to the blast one (1) short blast on the whistle or siren will <br />be sounded. Following the blast, the responsible person will check and clear the blast area for any <br />potential misfires orblast-related hazards, and if the area is safe, will sound one(1) long blast on the <br />whistle or siren to signal "all-clear". <br />All Mine and contract employees who would have any reaso to be x~orking in or proximate to the <br />blast area will be instructed in the meaning of t~a~sjt sig~l~prior to the blast. <br />Blaster's Signature -. <br />Date - ~ ~ -~ ~g " ~ 6 <br />
