INTRODUCTION
The Ferrero Pit is to be a small dry sand and gravel operation [o mine no more than 30,000 tons per
year on a total permit area of 7.3 acres. The gravel is approximately 10-12 feet thick below a thin
layer of topsoil and approximately 1-2 feet of subsoil. The plan stipulates [hat the land will be
returned to its original use of rangeland. The permit land is on a private parcel owned by
Larry(Atillo Menegatti of Walsenburg. The site is also adjacent to a previous small gravel pit
owned, operated and reclaimed by Huerfano County on [he same property owned by Larry
Menegatti. This pit was called the Menegatti Pit II and had CDMG permit # M-90-013. The permit
was always in good standing and the bond was completely released in March of 1995.
Since the information required by Huerfano County and the Colorado Division of Minerals and
Geology overlap in many cases, this single document has been produced for the application to both
parties.
Ferrero Pit 2/00
