Box 533 l.u._~. i.,,p,. ~.;i ~~._t.:~.., r.asccrcec
Pueblo, Colorado 81002
"Clay Pits"
Gentlemen:
In reference to a notice published in the Denver Post
concerning the clay pits of Summit Pressed Brick ~ Tile Co.,
Pueblo, Colorado we as owners and occupants of property
located at 1108 Ruppel Street, Pueblo, Colorado, which is
~jacent to the Clay Pits, wish to submit our comments:
1..~ We feel the clay pits are a detriment to the environment
of the residential area as well as the community.
="2~1 When clay is extracted from the pits large holes are left
open and the land is never refilled or leveled off.
3~ Dust continually blows from the pits covering everything
in sight and is a hindrence to the social and cultural
~ conditions of the area.
i
/4; Weeds on the property grow to a height of three to four
feet tall. They are never cut or removed from one year
to the next. With these conditions existing it is also
a drawing card for grasshoppers and other infestus
insects We have to continually spray our yard with
insecticides to keep down the infestation.
~5/ Motorcyclist's are constantly on the property, gunning
their engines and causing loud noises that is very
annoying to the people in the neighborhood.
We cannot understand why these conditions still exist and
why something has not been done about it.
We would certainly like to see these conditions remedied.
Yours t,rul
~~li''
Mr. John R.
