Ni ni nq impacts to the local geomorphol ogy <br />in the vtot ntty of the Nu ola Ntne and Nunia East mining area can be grouped under teo <br />categories: 1) Impacts to stream channel sy end 2) Impacts to drainage basins. Surface <br />mining affects streams channels by disrupting n5turai stream courses and reestablishing <br />(via reclamation) differsnt stream lengths and gradients. Drainage basin impacts may <br />l nclude changes in such basin parameters as Watershed area, slopes and slope ]engths. <br />`J <br />The WeaE Return Ditch (sae Exhibit 7-1, TaD 7) is the only prominent stroam channel <br />impacted (geomorphieal ly) in the vicinity of the Nuola Mine. Impacts to this channel are <br />limited to the reach frw the 001 pond Co a poSnt about 250 yards upstream of Sf to SW^N6. <br />Ntning aetivi ties altered this channel roach beginning to the m1d-1970'x, and reelamatf on <br />17-68a Revised 10/07/88 <br />• <br />REVISED MARCH 2006 Attachment 2.05.6(3)-2-79 <br />
