I~ <br />• <br /> <br />accordance with the sand and gravel discharge permit monitoring requirements, and no <br />water will be allowed to leave the FMM property until the monitoring requirements are <br />satisfied. <br />Continuous observation of the dewatering system will be performed by on-site workers to <br />determine if impacted groundwater is encountered during mining operations (as <br />evidenced by the presence of oil, hydrocarbon odor, oily sheen, or other unusual odor or <br />appearance). In the event that impacted groundwater is encountered during the mine <br />dewatering, the dewatering system will immediately be shut down and MEI personnel <br />will be contacted (at the telephone number found in Section 3.1) to provide qualified <br />personnel to investigate the groundwater situation. If necessary, samples will be collected <br />and submitted for laboratory analysis in accordance with the procedures stated in the QA <br />Plan and/or the discharge permit. <br />11 <br />
