RECLAMATION COSTS
EXHIBIT L
The worst case reclamation costs occur when the mining is completed on the site and the final
phase will need the following:
1) backfilling of slopes in the final phase to 3H:1V based on 1650 feet length and 900 sq. ft x-
section (from 1:1 to 3:1) = 59,000 cy.
2) topsoiling will be needed along the wetland fringe of the final phase and naturals will be placed
on the upper slopes of the final two phases. As described in the mining plan, reclamation of
previous phases will be an ongoing process during mining, therefore, the reclamation work at the
end of mining is lessened. It will also be assumed [hat all areas to be seeded will be done during the
Crnal reclamation process although seeding of some areas will take place during the phased process.
Worst case reclamation costs for this scenario are given below:
Task Description Time Needed Cost
# months
1 Backfill slopes in final Phase from 1.5 $38940
1H:1V to 3H:1V. 59000 cy @ $0.66
per cy.
