Mined Land Reclamation Permit <br />Tp: Western Slope Construction <br />949 Meeker St. <br />Delta, Colo. 81415 <br />Dear Mr. Hawkins, <br />~><i,~brts p a- c <br /> <br />Date: Nov. 14, 1983 <br />The following information will assist on your gravel pit permit. <br />Pit Name; Benton Dawson Pit <br />Location; legal, Part of SE; of section 15, T15S, R96W, 6th P.M. <br />Size; 5 acres <br />Area Site; Approximately 2 miles west of Delta, Colo. <br />Present Use; Part of the site is a gravel pit and the remainder is rangeland. <br />Present Plants; Annual weeds, Western Wheatgrass, Galletta grass, Squirrel- <br />tail grass, Rabbitbrush and greasewood. <br />Soils; OcA, OcB and Ru. See attached soil description sheets. <br />Top soil has been removed many years ago from the gravel areas. <br />gravel greater then 1%", est. 5 % <br />Gravel depth, est is 10 to 12 feet <br />Soil under gravel is shale <br />Water table is greater then 20 feet <br />Flood plain, the area is not in a flood plain <br />Precipitation; 8" to 10" is the average precipitation zone <br />Re-vegetat,i on; Broadca3t 10 pounds per acre of Crested Wheatgrass in the late <br />fall for pasture. Dates of mid Oct to mid Dec. are suggested. If the <br />area is used fora building site, no special seeding is necessary. <br />Berms; 1. A 8 ft. to 10 ft. berm will be left from the property boundaries <br />on the North and East with approximately a 3:1 minimum slope. <br />2. The North berm will not be needed if another gravel pit is <br />granted to anyone on the North immediately adjacent to this site. <br />3. The Don Coyote irrigation ditch runs along the South edge of this <br />property and should be piped or a berm left to support the present <br />ditch grade. <br />If you have any questions concerning this report., please contact us. <br />Sincerely, <br />a <br />A.
