Description of Duties <br />Brigade members should be trained in one or all of the <br />following duties or be in the process of training: <br />FIRE CHIEF <br />The~ire chief will be in charge of all activities dur- <br />ing an emergency. Because of the hazards associated <br />with emergency work, the primemost duty is the safety <br />of the other brigade mem'oers. <br />C• <br />SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS ATTENDANT <br />when used or automatically activated, this person will <br />monitor the system to assure that it is operating pro- <br />perly. After the fire is controlled, this person will <br />be used as a fire watch in case the svstem must be re- <br />activated. <br />FIRE PUMP ATTENDANT <br />When the fire suppression source of water is relied up- <br />on a fire pump, this individual will monitor the pump <br />for correct operation and assure that it is not turned <br />off except at the Fire Chief's order. <br />when the source of water for controlling a fire relies <br />on the storage tank, this person will monitor the water <br />level and/or perform other duties or make arrangements <br />for mobile sources of water as directed by the fire <br />chief. <br />C. Fire Brigade Training <br />It is important that Eire brigade members are trained <br />in the following areas: <br />`~ <br />
