meets the applicable federal and State of Colorado water quality
requirements. Upon removal of the sediment pond and diversion ditches,
the affected land will be regraded and revegetated in a manner similar
to the proposed revegetation plan described below.
Mine Facilities. At the completion of mining operations, the portal
complexes, the office and shop structures, the coal crushing and
handling facilities, and other related surface facilities will be
removed. The sites will then be graded and revegetated in accordance
with the procedures set forth in this Section, providing that there are
no continuing beneficial uses for these structures.
At the conclusion of mining, all salvageable mining equipment will be
sold as used equipment or sold to a local scrap dealer. No mining
machinery will be merely abandoned by Peerless Resources.
The portal facilities in the operations will be completely removed at
• the conclusion of mining. The conveyors used to transport the coal from
the mine portals to the crusher to the load-out area will be salvaged;
the conveyor structure supports will be removed and the right-of-ways
will be regraded, if necessary. They will be revegetated in accordance
with the revegetation plan set forth later in this Section.
The facilities found on the surface, including the office and shop
buildings, will be completely removed following mining activities,
providing they have no continuing beneficial uses. Materials resulting
from this removal will either be sold to a local scrap dealer or hauled
from the permit area to a suitable dump site. The areas will then be
regraded and revegetated. The access road to the portal area will be
revegetated at the conclusion of mining activities. The access road,
when no longer needed for operations, reclamation, or environmental
monitoring, will be restored. The roadbed will be rounded and shaped to
conform with the adjacent terrain and to meet natural drainage
restoration standards. At the completion of this regrading,
• revegetation will commence.
2.05-26
