The engineering parameters for the sedimentation pond and diversion
ditches are included in Exhibit 13 Drainage and Sediment Control Plan.
Topsoil
As explained above in the response to the Section 2.04.9 question,
Peerless Resources, Inc. obtained three (3) samples from potential plant
growth medium sites found in the area. The locations of these sites are
shown on the revised Mine Facilities Map (Map 12). The results of the
testing of these samples indicate that they are good for use as plant
growth material.
Peerless Resources, Inc. has designated two (2) locations as soil
substitute or plant growth medium stockpile areas. These stockpile
areas are shown on the revised Mine Facilities Map (Map 12) and will not
be disturbed during mining operations. It is estimated that
approximately 10,000 - 15,000 cubic yards of this plant growth medium
will be available for reclamation activities following mining.

Overburden
No overburden is anticipated to be moved and stored as a result of the
continued operation of the Coal Gulch Mine. Peerless Resources, Inc.
merely plans to initiate underground mining from the existing surface
mined area. Likewise, no surface blasting will be undertaken. .;~C
Coal Handling Structures
The description of the coal crushing, handling, and load-out facilities
for the Peerless Resources, Inc. operation is found under the Mine
Facilities section in 2.05.3. The location of these facilities is shown
on the Mine Facilities Map (Map 12).
Coal Processing Waste and Non-Coal Processing Waste
• This part is not applicable. Peerless Resources, Inc. will use a dry
crushing facility for coal preparation; no coal processing waste, as
defined in Rule 1.04, "DEFINITIONS", will be produced from any part of
the mining operations. ~ Q 4 ~~
2.o5_~q
