Exhibits 12-i, Operations Plan, and 13-1, Facilities Map, show the proposed location of these
structures in the facilities area. •
Waste Water. Waste water and sewage will be disposed of by septic systems. The bathhouse
building will have a septic tank and leach field located southwest of the building. All permits or
written waivers will be submitted to the Division from the appropriate regulatory agencies prior to
construction of the septic system.
Domestic Water. A water well will be drilled in the yard area northwest of the bathhouse building as
shown on Exhibits 12-1, Operations Plan, and 13-1, Facilities Map, Well specifics are detailed in Tab
7, Hydrologic Description.
Solid Wastes. Solid waste will be collected in dumpsters or other suitable containers and disposed of
at an approved dump site off the mine property.
Explosive Storage. The explosives storage area will be located at the very south end of the facilities
area. At this location, as shown on Exhibits 12-1, Operations Plan, and 13-1, Facilities Map, explosive
materials will be stored in drop trailers or in approved skid-mounted explosive magazines. The
ammonium-nitrate fuel oil mixture IANFOI explosive will be stored in two above ground bulk storage
silo bins. Explosive storage magazines will be constructed and located according to State and Federal
regulations. No permanent buildings will be constructed.
Fuel Storage. Storage tanks for diesel fuel and gasoline will be located in the facilities area near the
shop building Isee Exhibits 12-1, Operations Plan, and 13-1, Facilities Mapl. The diesel and gasoline
tanks will have a storage capacity of 20,000 gallons and 5,000 gallons, respectively. Spill prevention
and containment measures will be implemented in accordance with Seneca's Spill Prevention Control
and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan.
Power Transmission. Anew 69KV power transmission line was constructed to the Yoast Mine. A
substation will be constructed. The above line will be permitted and constructed by Yampa Valley
Electric Association and will come into the mining area from the east edge of the permit boundary near
Sedimentation Pond 011. The substation will step down the incoming 69KV line to 4160V to suit the
needs of the shop and dragline. Powerlines will be built by Seneca Coal Company from the main
substation to the office/shop building and to the reserve areas, as needed. The location of the main
electrical facilities are shown on Exhibits 12-1, Operations Plan, and 13-1, Facilities Map
Equipment Erection Site.
