Attachment 4
~ Page 3
MINED LAND WILDLIFE STATEMENT/EVALUATION
For limited impact and select regular mine applications
• The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for
use by Mined Land Reclamation Board in their consideration of a
mining permit for: Yocam Stone LLC.

Name/Type and Location of Mine (Legal)
Wildlife Species List:
The mine is located in a very wildlife diverse area. The
following is a list of some of the species that are likely to
have been found on this site: Mule Deer, White Tailed Deer,
Pronghorn Antelope, Swift Fox, Coyote, Bobcat, Mountain Lion,
Black Bear, Mountain Cottontail, Jack Rabbit, Scaled Quail,
Merriam's Turkey, Northern Harrier, Red-Tailed Hawk, Ferruginous
Hawk, American Kestrel, Mountain Blue-bird, Plateau Lizard, Great
Plains Skink, Western Rattlesnake, Night Snake, and Texas Horned
Lizard (this list is not exhaustive). There are several species
of concern that were/are likely to be found at the site
(underlined in above list}. It is unlikely that any threatened or
endangered species were/are on the site.
None
ve Co®unities
The site is located on short grass prairie.
Assessment of Impact:
The mine's impacts to wildlife are likely to be minimal. The
mine's surface acreage is small. A relatively small amount of
habitat will be lost in the initial construction of the mine. The
site is near an intermittent stream, but far enough away that the
impacts to the stream should be minimal.
Mine Reclamatioa Recommendations (include key species/habitats for
which restoration is designed): The site's scaled quail, deer, and
. reptile habitat quality could be improved through the reclamation.
It's suggested that the mine's south facing and east facing bluffs
not be entirely backfilled. A height of five to ten feet of
exposed bluff could be left. This will provide scaled quail with a
place to avoid avian predators, be protected from the winter's
