3. the total replacement of more than 15 acres of woods and thickets by Cell 3's lined lake.
4. the incredible increase of mining volume sought in Camas' amended county plans and the effect on wildlife attempting
to remain in the area.
5. The precious little leftover riparian corridor available to wildlife and recreation even after reclamation.
6. the unattended nuisance of uncontrolled levels of mosquitoes.
Additionally I would like to mention my disappointment over the awards Camas representatives told us they had been
granted. They assured my neighbors and me in their words and letters that Camas had been awarded several important
awards regarding reclamation. What is documented, however, is that the DMG reclamation awards were actually given to
Cooley Gravel Company prior to Cooley merging with Camas.
In conclusion, I wish to share my heart. I am a strong and faithful advocate of local business and of responsible use of
our natural resources. I have no personal vendetta with Camas Colorado, Inc. However, direct contact with Camas has
brought absolutely no resolution to my concerns or objections. In light of the lack of critical and detailed impact research I
ask you to withhold permission from Camas to mine their property until they create a plan that assures a responsible
stewardship of all our natural resources: land, wildlife, private properties and water.
Finally, my county commissioner refused to meet with my community members (FRAM). My state representative holds
mineral rights to this land. The County attorney has already met with Camas, Greeley city officials and Mr. Orr (who still
owns the land slated to be Cell 1 and 2) concerning this operation. Knowing as well, that construction aggregate is in high
demand and short supply and that large tax monies are at stake, I cannot help but conclude that my concerns in this
matter might easily be overlooked by my elected local representatives. Thus, I ask that you strenuously look into my
objections and require Camas to give an accurate and detailed account of the impact of their mining plans -and procure
the required legal documentation -before they are permitted by the state.
Sincere
J nathan Cragle and Family
~~~
