WESTERN FUELS-COLORADO, A LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY <br />NEW HORIZON MINE <br />NOTICE OF BLASTING SCHEDULE <br />NEW HORIZON MINE <br />C~ <br />• <br />The Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979 (34-33- <br />101 et. sea.) and the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined <br />Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining, and in particular Rule <br />4.08.3, requires all surface coal mines detonating five (5) pounds <br />of explosives or blasting agent to publish a schedule of blasting <br />in accordance with the above stated regulatory requirements. <br />In accordance with these requirements, the New Horizon Mine, <br />located near Nucla, Colorado hereby provides public notice of the <br />planned blasting schedule for the area(s) described below. <br />1. Blasting Area <br />Specific Area- The center of the blasting area is located in: <br />State: Colorado Township: 96 North <br />County: Montrose <br />Latitude: 38 16'00" North <br />Range: 15 West <br />Section: 6 <br />Longitude: 108 33'30" West <br />Meridian: New Mexico Principal <br />This blasting area will encompass a regularly shaped area <br />approximately 2500 feet easterly and westerly and 2500 feet <br />northerly and southerly from the above-defined center. <br />2. Dates and Times <br />Commencing on the 20 day of March, 1998, blasting in the <br />above-specific area(s) shall be conducted between sunrise and <br />sunset, Monday through Saturday of the week. Operational <br />considerations may dictate that blasting not be conducted on <br />some days. <br />3. Control of Access <br />The general mining area is identified by appropriate signs <br />along all access roads designating the area as a mining area <br />and entry is restricted to authorized personnel only. At <br />entrances into the permitted area, signs are posted reading <br />"Warning" that explain the blasting warning and all clear <br />signals.
