If not corrected within the 10 days, a Public IIearing will <br />be' held to show cause why Land Use should not be u2thdrawn. <br />A Resolution Of Approval will be created by the County Attorney, signed by <br />the &~ard of County Carmissioners and forwarded to you within the next two <br />weeks, <br />The Ire Plata County Planning Cannission and Board of County Crnmissioners <br />have all recognized the need for a River Management Plan, which would in- <br />clude assessing the impacts of mining sand and gravel particularly in that <br />reach of the river from Trimble Lane to Bakers Bridge. Recent negotiations <br />between representatives from Animas Aggregates, Burnett Construction, Hermosa <br />".eadovrs ;ravel and Sandco Inc. have indicated these gravel operators are <br />willing to contribute monies to perform necessary studies that would assess <br />impacts surrounding the gravel operations in that reach of the river used by <br />the above mentioned gravel canpanies. Additionally, La Plata County is <br />interE,sted in having the same engineering canpany provide a study that could <br />provide guidelines for future Land Use App1_ications and Reviews affecting <br />that reach of. the river.
