2-27
Coal waste may be generated from the operation in the form of coal fines, roof
falls and other material (high-ash coaly material) scraped up from the coal yard area.
This material will be stored in the temporary pile adjacent to the coal product stockpile.
This material will be blended and shipped with the product when possible. Periodically,
the temporary coal waste pile will be hauled to the coal mine waste disposal facility in
the Munger Canyon Mine permit area that was approved by technical revision no. 14,
TR-14, during November, 2002. The Operator has approval from the Mine Safety and
Health Administration (MSHA) to dispose of non coal rock slope material in areas of the
mine that are_no longer_actively producing coal. _ _ -- - . -- - -
All non-coal waste generated is disposed of by a commercial waste disposal
company. The non-coal waste is typically stored in a dumpster which is periodically
hauled to a disposal facility by the waste disposal company. During periods when the
mine is idle, the limited amount of non-coal waste generated is sometimes collected
and hauled to a waste disposal facility by the Operator.
M`Clane Volume 1 08/03
