Geology -Rules 2.04.5 and 2.04.6 <br />._ <br />The Division has reviewed the information provided by the applicant in Section <br />2.04.7, Volume II artd Volume III of the Second Adequacy Response for <br />compliance with the Regulations. Analyses were provided for the physical and <br />Chemical properties of the roof and floor rock of the Red Arrow and the Dirty <br />Jack O'Lantern seams. The operator has satisfied the Geologic <br />characterization and baseline collection requirements. <br />The proposed operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section. <br />V. Hydrologic Balance -Rules 2.04.5, 2.04.7, 2.05.3, 2.05.6(3) and 4.05 <br />A. Ground Water <br />The description of the ground water regime within the permit and adjacent <br />areas is contained on pages 1-39 of Section 2.04.7 of the Second Adequacy <br />Response. Also, known uses of ground water within the permit and adjacent <br />areas are shown on Figure 2.04.7(]c) and Table 2.04.1(]) of the Second <br />Adequacy Response, A thorough discussion of the ground water within the <br />permit and adjacent areas is contained in the probable hydrologic consequences <br />Section of this Document (Section VIII.) <br />B. Surface Water <br />.• <br />Surface water information provided in Section 2.04.1 of the Second Adequacy <br />Response and Attachment III of the permit application was reviewed for <br />compliance with the Regulations. A summary of the existing surface hydrology <br />information presented by the applicant is contained in the probable hydrologic <br />consequences section of this document (Section VIII). This study of the <br />hydrology of the region and the probable hydrologic impacts of all coal mining <br />in the Canon City Coal field contains a discussion of the local and regional <br />hydrology, baseline hydrologic data collection, and analysis of impacts and <br />mitigation measures associated with the Dorchester No.l Mine. <br />Dorchester has committed to a surface and grown <br />in the application. The Division approves of th <br />to clarify that monitoring is to continue until <br />modification or cancellation of the program. Th <br />therefore imposed: <br />Stipulation No. 2 <br />d water monitoring plan outined <br />e monitoring plan but desires <br />the Division approves <br />e following stipulation is <br />THE OPERATOR SHALL CONTINUE ALL HYDROLOGIC MONITORING OUTLINED IN THE <br />APPLICATION AND THIS FINDINGS DOCUMENT UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THE DIVISION <br />APPROVES OF MODIFICATION OR CANCELLATION OF THE PROGRAM. <br /> <br />
