It formed in <br />glacial drift, outwash, and old alluvial stream deposits derived dominantly <br />from igneous rocks.~~ The native vegetation is mainly pinyon pine, Utah <br />juniper, grasses, and shrubs. Elevation is 7,000 to 8,100 feet. The <br />average annual precipitation is 14 to 16 inches, the average annual air <br />temperature is 41 to 44 degrees F, and the average frost-free period is 7U <br />to 110 days. <br />Typically, the surface layer is dark brawn gravelly loam about 7 inches <br />thick. The subsoil is yellowish brown very cobbly clay loam 5 inches thick. <br />The substratum to a depth of 60 inches or more is white extremely cobbly <br />loam. <br />Included in this unit is about 5 percent Callan soils, 5 percent Gurley <br />soils, and 5 percent Sapeha soils. <br />J Permeability of tlus Radersburg soil is moderately slag. Available <br />water. capacity is moderate. Effective rooting depth is 6U inches. Runoff <br />is rapid to very rapid, and 'the hazard of water erosion is moderate to very <br />high. <br />This unit is used for livestock grazing in spring and fall, for wildlife <br />habitat, and for firewood gatherirg.~ <br />• <br />
