Division of Minerals and Geology
July 14, 2003
Page two
Indeed, there aze houses that border the southern end of this proposed mine and the quality of life
and health of these people could very much be affected. This is especially with the tendency for
these grave[ mines to begin crushing rock, running batch plants and running cement plants
during many hours of the day. I realize that there are proposed times that gravel will be extracted
from the pit; however, neighbors to other such operations report that they operate at many odd
hours of the night and day. The industrial noise level of these operations exposing people just to
the south of the plant and also to the east of the plant seems to affect their quality of life and
sleep patterns.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
~/:~~
Thomas D.
