2.04.7 HYDROLOGY DESCRIPTION
(1) GROUND WATER INFORb1ATION
Ground water is generally known to be scarce in the
western part of La Plata County. No affect upon ground water
is expected in that the permit area is not an aquafer recharging
area, and no ground water has historically been encountered in
mining operations.
(2) SURFACE WATER
The permit area and surrounding lands are drained by
Hay Gulch. However, there are no flowing streams or water bodies
in the area. Surface water run-off from the disturbed area is to
be contained within the disturbed area.
(3) ALTERNATIVE WATER SUPPLY INFORMATIGN
No contamination, diminution of underground or surface
source of water is expected because none has historically been
encountered.
The applicant proposes to engage the services of Fred M.
Johnson, Counsulting Engineer, 777 Main Avenue, Durango, Colorado
81301 to produce the required information for part 2.04.7.

_Z•4 _
