Culverts and Bridges. Culverts or bridges will be installed for crossings of all flowing <br />drainages and streams. Light-use roads planned to be used for a period of less than <br />b-months will utilize temporary culverts or bridges designed fo safely pass the 1-year, <br />b•hour precipitation event, or larger event as specified by the Division. Light-use roads <br />planned to be used for a period of more than 6 months will utilize culverts end bridges <br />designed to safely pass the 70-year, 24-hour precipitation event or longer as specified by <br />the Division. <br />Ditches, cross drains, road surface drainage culverts, and ditch relief drains will be <br />installed es required by the Division [o control erosion for light-use roads. <br />Natural-channel drainageweys will not be altered or relocated for the purposes of <br />light-use road construction. <br />Streem Crossings. Drainage structures required for crossing streams will not affect the <br />normal flow or gradient of the stream, adversely affect the fish migration and aquatic <br />habitat or related environmental values. <br />Surf acing <br />Light-use road surfaces will be adequate for the use of the road. Acid- or toxic-forming <br />substances will not be used in road surfacing. <br />Maintenance <br />Light-use road maintenance will be sufficient to ensure minimization of erosion for the <br />life of the road. Light-use roads will not be used if climatic conditions are such that <br />usage may cause degradation of water quality. <br />Reclamation <br />Immediately after a light-use road is no longer needed for operations, reclamation, <br />monitoring or the post mi ning land use as approved by the Division, the road will be <br />closed to vehicular traffic, the natural drainage patterns will be restored, ell bridges <br />and culverts will be removed, roadbeds will be ripped, plowed end scarified, fill slopes <br />will be rounded or reduced and shaped to conform to the site, co adjacent terrain and to <br />meet natural-drainage restoration standards. Cut slopes will be reshaped to blend with <br />the natural contour. Lross drains, dikes, and water bars will be constructed to control <br /> <br />17 <br />
