06-28-2000 07:21RM F J. E. STOVER 8 RSSOC[RTES TO01089919702475104 P.02
• Seeding will occur~uring late fall or eazly spring (from about October 31 to April 1) in
order to take advantage of available soil moisture conditions during the spring. The
applicant holds sufficient water rights within the Gurlry Ditch to provide irrigation to all
areas and phases of the gravel operation to enhance the revegetation effort if necessary.'
• 80/20 Nitrogen/Phosphate fertilizer will be applied at the time of seeding at the rate of 100
ponds per acre and worked into the soil during the seed bed propagation.
The pit excavation will leave nearly vertical faces of approximately 32' in height, if the pit is
mined to planned depth, during advance. These slopes will be reduced to 4h:1 v before the
application of topsoil or cover material. This slope wduction will be accomplished by placing
refuse material along the neazly vertical face of the side walls of the pit, providing acceptable
slopes that will follow the advancing face at not more than 300 feet. If insufficient refuse material
is available, the operator will also excavate the aide slopes to a 4h:ly slope on advance. The
advancing Cace will be excavated to a 4h:ly slope as it Heats the disturbance line. The operator
will take care not to rncroach on the disturbance line during slope reduction. In Phase T, a bens
will be developed along the southern and western exposure of the pit during rrrining, this berm
will remain in place and will be covered with topsoil or cover material at final reclamation.
Phase T will expose a maximum advancing face of 1200 feet, Phase II will expose a maximum
advancing face of 1495 feet and Phase III will expose a maximum advancing face of 595 feet.
Phase ll wi I I a expose a pit floor area of 25.3 acres, Phase II will expose a pit floor area of 32.0
acres and Phase III will expose a pit floor area of 2.0 acres.
Phase TTI will expose an area for facilities and processing of 3.2 acres, Phase II will expose an area
for facilities and processing of 3.8 acres and Phase III will expose an area for facilities and
processing of 3.8 acres.
Any compacted side slopes and floor of the pits wiil be ripped before final reclamation. A
minimum of 2 feet of cover material will be maintained over the underlying sandstone floor
during the mining operation. ff the sandstone floor is not exposed, due to the presence of ground
water, the 2 feet of gravel material left in place above the ground water will remain in place as
cover material. The final slope of oath pit will be loosened by the front-end loader and then
reshaped before 5na1 reclamation.
The access road and ditch crossings to Phase 1 and Phase III serve as entry onto the private land of
the gravel pit Owner/Operator and will remain upon completion oCthe operation.
Other reclamation tasks will include the removal of the semi portable truck scales and the removal
of the portable screetting/cruchingptant, the portable storage shed, the portable diese]/electric
generator set, the portable fuel tank and the portable sanitation facility.
The operator is aware that grazing may not occur on the acreage in reclamation without prior
authorization from the Division, in consultation with the local Soil Conservation District.
'These recorded rights can be found in Exhibit N -Legal Right to Enter and they are
restated in Exhibit G -Water information.
J:-2
