The area currently within the proposed permit boundary is outlined on
• the Drainage and Sediment Control Plan (Map 7). Platurally occurring
soil and rock materials will be excavated and placed as the containment
embankment.
After construction of the containment embankment, the embankment as well
as excavation will be seeded as stabilization.
Typical cross-sections and design layouts are shown on the Drainage and
Sediment Control Plan (Map 7). Specifications and design criteria
details are found in Exhibit 7, Drainage and Sediment Control Plan.
Stream Channel Diversions
No intermittent or perennial streams are diverted or will be relocated
by Mt. Harris as none exist in the facility area.
• Discharge Structure
There will be no discharge from the Mt. Harris Coal Company.
Permanent and Temporary Impoundments
The containment berm and sedimentation pond will be left intact at final
reclamation of the Mt. Harris Coal Company.
Surface Water Monitoring
The proposed drainage and sediment control plan is designed to allow no
discharge from the 10-year, 24-hour precipitation event. Since no
discharge will take place, no NPDES permit is required.
Groundwater Protection
• The only excavation planned at the Mt. Harris Coal Company will be for
the sedimentation pond as outlined on the Drainage and Sediment Control
2.05.6-4
