<br />Dear County Commissioners:
<br />Pursuant to Title 33, Article 34, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised
<br />Statutes, the Mined Land Reclamation Division hereby issues notice that on
<br />October 24, 1988, an application for renewal of a valid, existing permit to
<br />conduct coal mining operations, Permit No. C-82-054, by Pueblo Coal Inc, 278
<br />Sawyer Dr Ste 1-A, Durango, CO 81301, was deemed complete for the purposes
<br />of filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and
<br />Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing.
<br />The applicant proposes to continue conducting surface coal mining operations
<br />at the Carbon Junction Mine located two miles southeast of Durango, on Ewing
<br />Mesa in La Plata County, Colorado. The property is located within Section 4,
<br />Township 34N, Range 9W, Section 33, Township 34 1/2 N, P,ange 91i, and Section
<br />33, Township 35N, Range 9W.
<br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle
<br />maps, "Durango East" and "Loma Linda," A copy of the application is available
<br />for public inspection at the La Plata County Courthouse, 1060 E Second Avenue,
<br />Durango, CO. Written comments, objections or requests for an informal
<br />conference on the application may be submitted to, and additional information
<br />obtained from, the Mined Land Reclamation Division, Room 215, 1313 Sherman
<br />Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. Written comments, objections
<br />or requests for an informal conference must be filed at the Division by 5:00
<br />p.m., within thirty days after the last public notice in the local newspaper,
