Revision <br />February 1982 <br />' ~ Location of the fracture systems in the roof of the mine coincide with <br />the overlying ephemeral gulches. Dunrud (1976) concluded that these <br />gulches had formed in fracture systems which eroded more easily than the <br />surrounding rock. Water has seeped into the mine from these fracture <br />systems mainly during the snowmelt season. The water is an alkaline <br />sodium-bicarbonate type averaging 5959 mg/1 total dissolved solids.
