Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Rewurce Trustee <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology has finalized the review of Rim Rock's application for J- <br />Birds Mine application. It appeazs that all state application requirements have been met. <br />Therefore, staff is pleased to inform Rim Rock Exnloration that application M-2005-050 is <br />approved. The permit will not become active until the Financial Warranty (bond) has been posted <br />in the amount of $16,646.00. By Rule, Rim Rock has 365 days from this approval date to post <br />the required bond. <br />As a reminder, Rim Rock must submit to a certified laboratory waste and ore materials for testing <br />within 10 days of placing the materials on the surface. Rim Rock will be required to notify the <br />Division in writing within 10 days of the submission of the materials for testing as well. Test <br />results must be submitted to the Division for analysis within 30 days of receipt fiom the lab. <br />Please be aware that test results may require further review and assessments as to whether the <br />mine should be classified as a Designated Mining Operation or are exempt from those Rules. <br />Rim Rock is still required to garner all other approvals from other federal, state and local <br />jurisdictions prior to commencement of mining activities. Staff requests a copy of the approved <br />BLM permit from Rim Rock when received. Any issues with cross jurisdiction may need to be <br />addressed with a Technical Revision so that both permits reflect agreement.
