13 <br />• The artifacts from the prehistoric occupation of the site include chipped stone debitage, <br />chipped stone tools, ground stone, and ceramics. The debitage will be analyzed to determine place <br />in the reduction sequence and raw material type. Tools will be analyzed for technological as well <br />as functional traits, including method of manufacture, biface stage, edge weaz and edge angle. <br />Ground stone will be similazly analyzed. Projectile points and ceramics will be compazed to known <br />types for cultural association and chronological information. <br />The historic artifact assemblage will be subjected to an analysis designed to derive <br />functional, economic, social, ethnic, technological and chronological information. These will then <br />be compazed and contrasted within the context of the site's spatial organization. The historic artifact <br />assemblage is expected to be the primary source of information for investigating the reseazch issues <br />at the site. It will, within the frameworks established by the chain of title, and through association <br />with the various features and occupations of the site, provide a good window on a wide range of <br />issues related to the reseazch design. <br />Finally, the results of investigations at SLA7186 can be integrated into the known culture <br />history of the region, contributing to an understanding of dte historic interaction between Native <br />Americans, Hispanic New Mexicans, and anglo Americans. <br />References Cited <br />• McKibbin, Anne, and Richard F.
