•
DEPT. OF MINERALS
TO WHOM IT MA Y CONCERN.'
47
I~'
This letter is in reference to the mining permit at
Parkda/e. Tne permit to mine this specific area is very
distressing to me for the fol%wing reasons: destruction of
habitat for the wildlife, dust pollution, noise pollution related
to the twenty-four hour boxcar loading, water pollution, and
the overall destruction of a beautiful mountain. Should we
sacrifice a// of the aforementioned for the big green,
money?
Yes, I do be/ieve that the so-called economic growth of
Fremont County is the primary selling factor for the
permission to mine this area. No jobs are guaranteed. If
jobs materialize, will the employees be Fremont citizens or
brought in from another state or area? Traditionally, are all
promises kept by corporations?
Please consider all of the factors that will potentially
impact the Parkda/e citizens and neighbors of the area. We,
and our children, will be here long after the life of the mine.
Sincerely,
Sh ila L. Bisel
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
SEPT., Y7, 1997
