MINED LAND <~LIFE STATEME;dT/EVALUATION (Reed) <br />for limited impact and select regular mine applications <br />The following informatioi pertaining to wildlife is provided for use by Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board in their consideration of a mining permit for: <br />Name/Type and Location o Mine (Legal) <br />Wildlife Species list: Elk, Mule Deer, Coyote, Blue Grouse, Pox, <br />Pine hiarten, Beaver nearby, and various nongame rodents and birds. <br />Endangered/critical species/impacted: None known. <br />Critical habitats/vegetative communities impacted: Sagebrush and meadota, nearby <br />riparian habitat impacted due to equipment and vehicle activity in area <br />(wildlife use of that habitat type). <br />Assessment of impact: Disturbance in the area due to mining activity has <br />reduced the area's utilization by various wildlife species in past <br />years. Destruction of habitat is not the major impact. Rather, <br />disturbances associated with human and mining activity effect more <br />than the pit area in so far as causing certain species to vacate the <br />area. ~ <br />Mine Reclamation recommendations (include key species/habitats for which restoration <br />is designed). <br />1ny pond areas resulting from operations should have gently sloped <br />banks ltlltll irregular shorelines.
