Lang <br />Division Director <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology received public comments objecting to the approval of the 112 permit <br />application for the proposed Tellier Gravel Pit, Permit No. M-98-058. Under [he Construction Material Rules and <br />Regulations, three public meetings will be held, and are as follows; <br />Informal Conference (Rule 1.4.6) The purpose of [he informal conference is to identify all parties to the proceedings <br />and formal Board Hearings, determine what issues have been resolved (if any), and if there are additional issues, <br />identify the issues that the Board, by statute, havejurisdiction to address, and explain the hearing process. The meeting <br />will be held at the Routt County Courthouse in Steamboat Springs on October 20,1998 at 8:30 a.m. <br />Pre-hearing Conference (Rule 2.7) The Pre-Hearing Conference will be presided over by the Pre-Hearing <br />Conference Officer. The Pre-hearing Conference Officer is appointed by the Mined Land Reclamation Board. The <br />purpose of the Pre-Hearing Conference is to draft a hearing order that lists issues the full Board should consider, lists <br />the witnesses and evidence to be presented by parties, lists the parties that will participate, determine the amount of <br />time afforded each party, and to resolve any other issues that the Pre-hearing Conference Officer determines is <br />appropriate. The Pre-Hearing Conference will be scheduled between November 6 and November 10, 1998. <br />Formal Board Hearing (Rule 2.8) The Board will conduct the Tellier Gravel Pit hearing according to the provisions <br />of the adopted hearing order, [he Administrative Procedures Act, Section 24-4-105, Colorado Revised Statutes <br />(C.R.S.), and the Colorado Code of Regulations, 2 CCR 407-4, Section 2.8. The Formal Public Hearing will be held <br />during the November 18-19, 1998 Board meeting.
