i <br />_. <br />Sa,l~u~ ~ Z~5~~8 <br />ABOR SERIES ~.2~~a ,/~ ~ (~ 2 Z <br />The Abor series consists of moderately deep well dra"fined soils <br />formed from carbonaceous shale. They are located on broad ridgetops <br />and have slopes of 0 to 29 percent. <br />Abor soils are not similar to any other soils mapped in the study <br />area. They are mapped near Cochetopa, Skylick, Lymanson Taxadjunct <br />and Rhone soils. <br />Soils of the Abor series are fine, montmorillonitic Borollic Vertic <br />Camborthids. <br />Typical pedon of Abor clay loam, 10 percent slope, is located <br />C~ <br />within 402,OnON, 1,422,000E and 405,000N, 1,426,000E. <br />Al--0 to 2 inches; light brownish gray (2.SY 6/2) clay loam, <br />dark grayish brown (2.SY 4/2) moist; moderate medium granular structure; <br />slightly hard, friable, sticky, plastic; neutral; abrupt smooth <br />boundary, <br />B2--2 to 32 inches; grayish brown (2.SY 5/3) clay, dark grayish <br />brown (2.SY 4/3) moist; strong medium prismatic structure parting to <br />strong medium angular blocky; hard, firm, sticky, plastic; neutral; <br />clear smooth boundary. <br />Clca--32 to 40 inches; light brownish gray (2.SY 6/3) clay, grayish <br /> <br />brown (2.SY 5/3) moist, massive structure; hard, firm, sticky, plastic; <br />mildly alkaline; clear smooth boundary. <br />2-18 5 <br /> <br />
