They generally occur on southern and
southeastern-facing sideslopes and have slopes of 10 to 49 percent.
The Cryoborolls are similar to and occur near Splitro and Roxal
Variant-Starman complex soils. Splitro soils have lithic contacts.
Roxal Variant and Starma^ soils lack mollic epipedons. They also occur
near Winevada, Lymanson, Owen Creek shallow Variant and
Torriorthents-Rock outcrop complex soils.
Soils of this map unit are classified at the suborder level as
~~
LJ
Cryoborolls.
Typical pedon of Cryoborolls, 34 percent slope is located
within 402,000N, 1,430,000E and 405,000N, 1,434,OOOE.
Al--0 to 3 inches; brown (lOYR 5)3) sandy loam, dark brown (lOYR
3/3) moist; massive; slightly hard, friable, nonsticky and nonplastic;
slightly effervescent; moderately alkaline; gradual smooth boundary.
C1--3 to 18 inches; light yellowish brown (lOYR 6/4) very fine
sandy clay loam, yellowish brown <lOYR 5/4) moist; massive; slightly
hard, friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; strongly effervescent;
moderately alkaline; clear smooth boundary.
C1r--18 inches; weathered sandstone.
u
7-201
