The haul road adjoins private property where wildlife habitat has been improved leading to
increased concentrations on or near the right of way, particularly at peak wildlife movement times of
dawn and dusk.
Particular attention should be paid to reclamation procedures to ensure native plant specie rejuvenation
and thinning of timber consistent with forest health standards. Care should be taken to avoid
disturbance or removal of aspen and to protect riparian habitat either directly affected by gravel
operation or vehicle traffic
As indicated, these guidelines are intended to assist in safe operation of the proposed gravel pit and
facilitate minimal impact on wildlife and wildlife habitat. Should you requesUrequire on site wildlife
assistance please contact District Wildlife Manager, Bob Holder at (719) 680-1410.
AI Trujillo
Area Wildlife er-Area 11
600 Reservoir Road
Pueblo, CO 81005
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, Russell George, Exewtive Direcor
WILDLIFE COMMISSION, Jeffrey Crawford, Chair • Tom Burke, Vice Chair • Ken Torres, Secretary
Members, Robert Bray • Ridc Enstrom • Philip James • Claire O'Neal • Richard Ray • Robert Shoemaker
Ex Olfido Members, Russell George and Don Ament
