It formed in
mixed eolian and alluvial material . Typically the
surface layer is loam about 5 inches thick_ The upper
part: of the subsoil is clay loam about. 9 inches thick..
The lower part is strongly calcareous clay .loam about 2
inches thick. The upper part of the substratum is
strongly calcareous loam about 8 inches thick. The
lower part is noncalcareous gravelly sandy loam.
Permeability .is moderate to slow. Available: water"
capacity is moderate to high_ Runoff is rapid anc:l
hazard of wager erosion is high. The Hazard of soil
blowing is moderate.
The Eckley soil .is shallow to sand and gravel . It
formed in gravelly alluvium. Typically the surface
layer is gravelly loam about 4 inches thick. The
subsoil is gravelly .sandy clay loam about 6 inches
thick_ The upper part of the:: substratum is coarse sand
about. 25 inches thick. The lower part is calcareous
gravelly coarse sand to a depth greater than 35 inches_
Permeability is moderate from 1.0 to 20 inches and
rapid to 60 inches or more .
