III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
EL PASO COUNTY 110 PERMIT APPLICATION
! ~ (? 1980
October 17, 1980
-~ !.AC1U RECLAPAAT!
. .. ~.' ~?J~C L'.! ?CSC n~
Exhibit A
The area of disturbance varies with each location. Most of the gravel
deposits are lenticular and small in acreage. Our mining plans are to
remove the gravel from the deepest part of the deposit first then work
our the sides until we hit clay or send. We can list the area of dis-
turbance in the existing pits but cannot determine the extent of the
operation in the future as we have not done any core drilling to deter-
mine the exact extent of the individual deposits. We currently do not
have any pits larger than 7.5 acres including haul roads.
The areas of existing disturbance are as folloxs:
Alford, 01142 - 5 acres, no haul road
Asper, 01274 - 5 acres, no haul road
Dellacroce, 71341 - 4.5 acres + 1.5 acre haul road
Devorss, 16284 - 5 acres, no haul road
Edwards State, 45032 - 4 acres + 1 acre haul road
Haver, 12173 - 4 acres, no haul road
Hodgen, 32833 - 5 acres, no haul road
Mayhew, 03121 - 5 acres, no haul road
Norris State, 46013 - 5 acres + 1 acre haul road
Polders, 02332 - 7 acres, no haul road
Sokol, 22223 - 7.5 acres, no haul road - m ux
Thieman, 04023 - 5 acres, no haul road
Wilson, 13083 - 3 acres, no haul road (stock pond)
Wyatt, 34111 - 5 acres, no haul road
Yoder, 05013 - 5 acres, no haul road (stock pond)
Exhibit B
add :1 fe qi~ et ~R, s
i3
1. The two pits that will be left as stock water ponds are the Wilson (13083)
and.Yoder (05013) Pits. Our practice is to slope at 4:1 or gentler,
similar to the Dewell pit, which you have inspected.
2. (Top Soil) Our normal plan is to stockpile the top soil at one side
3. of the pit floor to protect it from blowing. Our experience has been
4, that a good weed cover will grow from the seeds embedded in the soil
after the first rain. We are agreeable to the extra steps if wind
erosion becomes a problem. All of our pits are dry operations, and
xe have had no severe problem with water erosion.
Exhibit C
1. I have attached a copy of an aerial photo showing the Dellacroce pit.
T'he county had Landis fly the entire county east of the Rampart Range
and these aerial photos will be available shortly. I believe we can
indicate on the photos the pits as they appeared this summer when the
photos were taken. We do not have an individual map or survey of each
pit. I believe these aerials will actually be more accurate than a map.
I will send a photo for each pit as soon as they are available.
2. We have indicated in Exhibit A the pits which have a specific haul road
