F.XHT_BTT L - REC'LAMATTON COSTS
(Revised 01/06/95)

The proposed reclamation will consist of open water (sealed water
storage reservoir) with seeded shoreline of low maintenance
grasses, and two backfilled or partially backfilled areas with
seeded surface of low maintenance grasses. Along the South Platte
River, trees and shrubs will also be planted, and the ground will
be seeded with low maintenance grasses. The above leads to the
following assumptions in estimating reclamation costs:
1. No import of topsoil/overburden material would be necessary,
since sufficient material will be kept on site.
2. Grading to achieve final grades of slopes is with unspecified
material. Surface preparation includes respreading of
topsoil/overburden where required.
3. The total site area is 180± acres. No respreading of topsoil
/overburden or reseeding will be performed on lake bottom or
banks below the proposed water surface elevation. Only
grading to achieve final sloping would be necessary.
4. Slopes to be graded to a ratio of 3:1 (horizontal to ~
vertical). water surface elevation is estimated at 5,060±',
the level periphery area around the reservoir will average
5,070±', and the bottom elevation of the reservoir will
average 5,040±'. Since the overall average slope will be 3:1,
there will be 90' of bank area to regrade and slope (3 x 30')
for each 8,500 lineal feet of bank length (18 Ac.).
5. The worst case for topsoil/overburden and revegetation is 70
acres. This is where Areas 1 and 2B are backfilled and need
revegetation (39 acres), and revegetation is required along ~, L 6
all of the bank areas around the permanent reservoir and the L
disturbed area along the River. Topsoil/overburden respreading
and revegetation would be necessary for 55' x 8,500 lineal
feet; 30' for the banks to the average water line (3 x 10')
and 25' for the periphery area (11 Ac.). The area along the
South Platte River that would have to reclaimed is
approximately 4,300' lineal feet. Although this area is 400',
the average area of disturbed area that will have to be
revegetated is 200' or less (20 Ac.).
6. No calculations are included for water augmentation, as no
mining into the water table will occur until an augmentation
plan is in place for Areas 1 and 2C, and until slurry wall is
in place for the future reservoir area.
7. For the slurry wall, the worst case is that the DMG would have
to have to install, or completely re-install, the 8,500 lineal
feet of the slurry wall.
8. A 5°s bond forfeiture processing charge is added ~~ ~
