FXHTBIT D (CONTrNLrF'Dl
(Revised 01/06/95)
area 2C -
Approximately 55,000± cubic yards will be stored along the
south 25' setback of that area to potentially revegetate the
entire 34± acres of Area 2C, although this area will be filled
with sand spoils as much as possible. This topsoil/overburden
storage areas will remain to the end of mining to act as a
permanent reserve for revegetation. In the worst case, if
approvals haven't been obtained for wet mining on Area 1, for
the slurry wall, and for construction of channel improvements
in Areas 2A and 2B, mining to the water table may be initiated
in this area while the relevant approvals are being obtained
for the above items.
To summarize, topsoil/overburden will be stockpiled in the
following amounts and for the following afteruse:
Area 1 - 8,000± cubic yards for revegetation of the are for
future use as open space or farming. The stored
material will be combined with the stored material
from Area 2B, and stored along the east side of
this area and along east and south sides of Area 2B
as shown on EXHIBIT C-2, MINING PLAN MAP.
Periphery - 8,000± cubic yards far reserve to revegetate the
(Areas 2A & B) 8,500± lineal footage x 25±' wide periphery areas.
The periphery areas will generally be revegetated
~ µA"~~£ ~ from the stripping of subsequent phases, but
A~,4 retaining this reserve assures that there always
OEJ~~"'"~~~~ will be sufficient topsoil to complete
revegetation. Upon completion of all phases, any
excess remaining topsoil/surface material would be
sold.
Arr 2C - 55,000± cubic yards for revegetation of up to 34±
acres of potential backfill area. As with the
periphery topsoil/surface material stockpile, any
excess remaining will be sold.
All stockpiles will be revegetated using a grass drill seeded,
where possible, with Fairway Wheatgrass at a rate of 6 pounds per
acre pure live seed. The rate should be doubled if broadcast
seeded. After the initial seeding, the stockpile may also be
seeded with either wheat or forage sorghum. More exact standards on
stockpile revegetation may be found in the letter in EXHIBIT I/J -
SOILS/VEGETATION INFORMATION.
CHAN~fO
tiE.1.
pkfrl.NA71 ae
