The proposed pit and processing facility is located east of the B Road
intersection with State Highway 141 (32 Road). Mesa County has reviewed and approved
United Companies' application for a Conditional Use Permit for this site.
One of the requirements necessary to file for a Reclamation Permit is that United
Companies notify the Soil Conservation Service if the proposed mine is within the
boundaries of a soil conservation district. The "Notice Of Filing Application" form
attached constitutes this required notification.
Also required by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board is proof that the
required notification of the Board of Supervisors of the Soil Conservation District was
performed. Please sign and date each of the two copies of this letter. United Companies
will use one of these signed letters as proof of service of this notification. The other copy
is for your records.
This is the second letter that I have delivered to your office. The reason is that the name
of the company filing the application for the Reclamation Permit is officially
Oldcastle SW Group, Inc. dba United Companies of Mesa County.
The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology requested that I re-notify interested
parties to clarify the name of our company.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Richard Johnson
Resource Manager -~
Received by the Board of Supervisors of the Mesa District ~l'~Conservation District

(Date)
by ~ ~ /,
J (Signature)
21830 Hwy. 550 South, P.O.
