Mr. Mark Loy
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 60203
Dear Mr. Loy:
The following are our comments and concerns regarding the issuance of a
permit to the Colorado Highway Department (CHD) for the extraction of
sand and gravel from the proposed Nordyke Pit located in:
Sixth Principal Meridian
T. 24 S., R. 71 W.
Sec 5, E~NE`~
First of all, the CHD will be required to obtain a free use, mineral
material permit from BLM before extracting material from the pit. We
will issue the permit after we hear from CMLRB that they approve of the
site.
Second, CHD indicates in their application that the permit is to be
transferred to the landowners upon the completion of paving Colorado
Highway 69. If this occurs, the landowners must receive a separate
permit from BLM and the material would be sold to them at fair market
value.
The balance of the application appears complete and we concur with the
recommended reclamation stipulations.
If you have any additional questions, please contact Dennis Zachman of
my staff.
Sincerely yours,
~~/; L
A'tea Plan ger
