In addition, drainage plans for diverting
Carbon Junction flows around the excess spoil disposal area and directing
disturbed flows from the excess spoil disposal to the sediment pond during
active mining and early reclamation phases (prior to permanent channel
reconstruction) were not well defined in the application.
I did not mean to imply that design ditches were necessa rs' within active mine
pits. If you feel that I have overlooked or misinterpreted certain aspects of
the drainage control plan which address the issues of concern, please let me
know. As stated in the March 13, 1990 letter, these issues will need to be
addressed along with other renewal adequacy issues by June 1, 1990 and the
issues will need to be satisfactorily resolved before the permit renewal could
be approved.
Sincerel /
~~
(~~ " ~
.,.
Dan T.
